Our Mission
Our Purpose
Beyond Horizon Projects was born in 2022 to advocate across the financial system for an alternative perspective that integrates climate goals, human rights, and social considerations in financial decision-making. To achieve this, BHP supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by tackling poverty and gender-based violence through digital and economic empowerment, technology access, and international collaboration.
Our Approach
We shift the dialogue from blame to balance — from a narrow view of aid to a multifaceted framework that acknowledges global economic differences, especially across the Global South.
Our Framework
Our framework combines quantitative data with qualitative analysis to understand how impact is experienced and sustained. This includes:
Participatory Design: evaluation questions co-created with partners and beneficiaries, interviews, focus groups, and visual mapping.
Historical Sensitivity: decolonial practice that considers historical responsibility, and acknowledges the results of global economic differences due to decades of colonization.
Creative Dissemination: short videos, brochures, exhibition, reports to share learning widely.
Our Values
We emphasize the need for an equitable approach that considers historical responsibility. Even if this issue poses a complex challenge, it is a valid argument as the numbers show. Therefore, while asserting the Global South rightful claim to financial repatriations, we try to avoid the enforcement of traditional victim mindset.
Our Goals
Funding Scale & Mobilization
Challenge: Public budgets alone cannot meet the scale of sustainable investment.
Need: Private sector participation and multilateral cooperation.
Focus: Build bankable pipelines, align with SDGs, and deploy de-risking tools.
Investor Hurdles & Risk Perception
Challenge: Emerging economies face limited credit ratings and perceived instability.
Need: Transparent risk frameworks and experience-building for investors.
Focus: Reduce cost of capital through blended finance and knowledge transfer.
Rate Shocks & Fiscal Pressure
Challenge:Interest-rate hikes and inflation strain public budgets.
Need: Broader financing mix beyond debt instruments.
Focus: Promote private equity, venture capital, and hybrid instruments.
